First day at school
On the very first day of my school, I was very excited. I was thinking different things about what would happen to me at school. I got up early in the morning. My mother had already told me that I had to go to school to get admitted. My school was about one hour walk from my home. I had never gone before there. Once, I had gone there with my elder brother. But it was long time back. It was the time before I learnt alphabet. But this time was very different from the previous experience. I was going there to learn, to sit in the class and read.
At that time, I was just 3 years old. I had to get admitted to class kg after my informal education at my home. My father and mother had taught me at home. They found me compatible to the class. They also asked the principal of the school whether it would be right to take admission in class kg. He consented after he took my test. I was not prepared for it. He took me to his office and gave two questions to solve. I was very nervous. But luckily, I solved the problems without any mistake.
After my admission, I was asked to go to my class. It was a small room. There were good paintings on the wall. There were almost thirty students. As soon as I entered the class, many students looked at me. I sat on the third bench. The Nepali teacher was taking class. Then, he told us a beautiful story. We heard the story very attentively.
After the school time was over, I came back to home. I was Very happy. As soon as I reached home, my mother was waiting me outside. My little sister, Priya, was playing with her doll. I gave her one chocolate I had saved. My mother asked me about my school experience.. When I told her, she became very happy. The bell rang for interval. Many students went out. But I stayed in the class. There was another boy called Raghu. He was also from my village. We both talked to each other for some time. He told me about his experiences of the school. Then, there was math class. The math teacher was very good. He gave us to do some problems. He told us that he would give us chocolates if We did the problems Without mistakes. He gave us five problems and I solved all five. He gave me three chocolates. I was very happy. I ate two chocolates and kept one for my little sister.
